"From New York, with Love," a Foburg Fest Showcase
Louisiana native and Founder of Brooklyn's No Correct Way makes a welcomed visit back home for the first edition of New Orleans' Foburg Fest, presented by the New Orleans Indie Rock (NOIR) Collective. Not showing up empty-handed, she is bringing three NYC acts and a fourth from Austin, TX to present an official Foburg showcase, aptly titled "From New York, With Love."
"I'm very much excited to come home and see family and friends, but also to share with them the diverse musical tastes of New York City that I have come to love. These artists are great friends of mine and I just know that their performances will be well-received by the New Orleans music community."
The No Correct Way Foburg showcase takes place downstairs at Dragon's Den (435 Esplanade Ave) on the first night of the festival, Friday March 12th. Doors are at 9pm, with The Frontier Brothers taking the stage at 10pm sharp. 5$ cover at the door, free to Foburg badge holders. Links to all four acts are below:

No Correct Way & Tipping Point Entertainment Group Official CMJ Showcase
This event will take place on Thursday, October 22nd at Bowery Electric. Doors are at 6:30pm and tickets are FREE to CMJ badge holders/only $8 for the public with a free beer. Check out our events page for more information. The line up is as follows:
Black Taxi | A caravan of Libertines dancing fireside, saving souls with stories that come alive in song: the trumpet almost drowns in a sea of melodic bass, only to be rescued time and again by heavy drumbeats and a guitar that smells like deliverance. Provocative lyrics are delivered with wild eyes alongside guttural rock arrangements, welcoming you to the end. Black Taxi swears by no man or god - just the lusty anticipation of a guaranteed good time.
A Million Years | A collective of passionate, music-obsessed workaholics - equally inspired by the intellectualism of bands like Radiohead; the quirk of bands like Wilco and Spoon; and the spunk and punk of bands like Arctic Monkeys. The Brooklyn-based foursome includes Keith Madden (vocals, guitar), Andrew Samaha (bass/vocals), Andrew Vanette (drums/vocals) and Nick Werber (guitar/vocals). Their recently relesaed 3-song EP Incandescent, produced by Longwave's Shannon Ferguson, is now available on iTunes and Amazon.com. A Milion Years heads back in to the studio with Shannon later this year to record their debut full-length album, (to be released in early 2010) and are set to follow up with some major touring of their own.
Pocketknife | Grounded in cerebral pop but flirting with experimental rock, Pocketknife evokes the old jazz greats just as successfully as they wrangle with CMJ's top 200 artists. At times they are blistering and unrestrained, but this trio can turn on a dime and execute a passage that showcases a dedicated music education. Led by Colin Killalea, Pocketknife is just as certain to break your heart as they are to encourage you to sing along with abandonment. The songs are anchored by Jordan Brooks on bass and former U.S. jazz ambassador, Robby Sinclair on drums.
Tall Tall Trees | With the recent release of their self-titled debut album which reached #165 in the CMJ Top 200, Tall Tall Trees is garnering attention for it's unique brand of electric banjo-driven folk rock. Recording in their home studios over the course of 2008, the band amassed 12 tracks showcasing an eclectic mixture of Americana, indie rock and world music with an emphasis on lyrically rich songs.
NLX | Hails from the proud tradition of BS-free northern songwriting women. She continues to carries the electronically edged pop torch with Bitch Get Fit - 16 tracks of blow your mind and open your heart lyrical and musical smack. From 3,000+ soft-seaters while opening for Matthew Good and David Usher, to Lower East Side rock clubs to intimate cafes in Greenwich Village, NLX invites you into her heart - and makes her way into yours - with delightful blunt humor lifted from the same divine source as her music.

No Correct Way Launches New Site, Makes Waves at CMJ
NYC based music promotions company, No Correct Way, has launched its new site this week: www.nocorrectway.com. With the intention of investing in music makers within the year, No Correct Way (NCW) currently offers bands and labels national radio campaigns, promotion to bloggers and podcasters, event promotion, and traditional PR services.
Founder, Ariane Trahan comments, "We are hoping for this business to be a breath of fresh air for indie artists who are looking for genuine help from people who are just as passionate about their music as they are. The difficulty in employing a team of people around a release who easily get steeped in their projects isn't a secret. We're striving daily to be the musician's friend, not just people in front of computers."
No Correct Way has jump started the year off with Engine Room Recording's compilation, Guilt By Association Vol. 2, which has jumped 111 chart positions to #87 this week in CMJ's Top 200 Charts. The release, which features covers from Takka Takka, My Brightest Diamond and Lowry has gotten stellar reviews by the media, including Pitchfork, Stereogum, and Associated Press.
Guilt By Association Vol. 2 is available across all digital platforms and at key record stores like Soundfix and Other Music. For details: www.myspace.com/guiltbyassociation.

From Us to You
It's official: No Correct Way is declaring its launch this month, with a swanky new website, spring roster of clients, and the announcement of our eventual progression into a record label all its own. We kindly invite you to add yourself to our newsletter to stay informed of all rip-roaring happenings, both of our artists and our projects!
No Correct Way (NCW) offers indie artists a host of effective promotional campaigns and encourages FREEDOM IN FORMATION! when choosing what and to whom to market your music to. We will always have advice and suggestions to offer, but ultimately, it's your decision when deciding the length, reach, and breadth of your projects, and you can choose our services a la carte or as a package.
We currently offer college and commercial radio campaigns, online publicity, PR, event promotion (in NYC), video distribution, and consultations. In need of something else? Ask and we shall discuss.
NCW was born from the frustrations of seeing talented (and not so business-savvy) artists get ripped off by larger companies, the vast sea of over-priced campaigns, and the inevitable impersonal touch with a dash of insincerity. We're here with an open ear, and if you'd like to be given an honest opinion and have realistic expectations, you're the person we take pride in working with.
After reading more about NCW and what we rock at, please do get in touch with any questions or suggestions. We're prompt to reply and love to hear feedback!
Signed with x's and o's,
Ariane
