A Million Years
Formed in early 2007, A Million Years began as a sort of "revolving door" with an ever changing list of band members, centered on songs born in Keith Madden's (vocals/guitar) bedroom. In the past year however, the line-up has evolved into a solid four-piece, with a sound that is far more cohesive and distinct.
Steeped in songwriting that reflects the talents of Andrew Samaha (bass/vocals), Andrew Vanette (drums/vocals) and Nick Werber (guitar/vocals), A Million Years is now a collective of passionate, music-obsessed workaholics - equally inspired by the intellectualism of bands like Radiohead; the quirk of bands like Wilco and Spoon; and the spunk and punk of bands like Arctic Monkeys.
The foursome has taken their powerful live show to venues all around New York City including Bowery Ballroom, Highline Ballroom, Bowery Electric, The Studio at Webster Hall, and The Mercury Lounge. Always on the move, they are active in the city's music scene in other ways as well, performing live and on tour with members of the band Longwave, Pin Me Down and Bloc Party.
Their recently released 3-song EP Incandescent, produced by Longwave's Shannon Ferguson, is now available on iTunes and Amazon.com. A Million Years heads back to the studio with Shannon later this year to record their debut full-length album (to be released in early 2010) and are set to follow up with some major touring of their own.
